The Boy Who Refused to Leave the Train

Elias Hale.

The conductor froze.

Elias.

Eli.

“No way…” he whispered.

His hands went cold.

Ending: The Last Stop

He ran back to the carriage.

Eli was still there.

Sitting.

Waiting.

Like nothing had changed.

The conductor sat slowly across from him.

“…Eli,” he said carefully,
“what’s the last thing you remember?”

The boy thought for a moment.

“We were on a train,” he said.
“It was raining… like tonight.”

The conductor felt his chest tighten.

“And then?”

Eli looked down.

“…my mom told me to hold her hand.”

Silence.

“…but I let go.”

At that exact moment—

The train stopped.

Not at a station.

Not scheduled.

Just… stopped.

The lights flickered.

Then dimmed.

And suddenly—

a door opened.

But outside…

there was no platform.

Just darkness.
